Former students, Chad Yehia and Diran Tutunjian (criminal law), continue to be available to help clients of the firm, as does our renowned outside Counsel, K. Wayne McCracken. David Bernstein continues as an associated outside counsel to the firm. He is now also an associate lawyer at Nelson Watson LLP in Guelph, Ontario.
Derek Freeman and Dillon Shields (formerly Nick Backman in this role) are actively involved with the latest changes to the Construction Act, formerly Bill 142 work (which Bill became the Construction Lien Amendment Act, 2017). Derek was a member of the Expert Review’s Advisory Group, with the Expert Reviewers, Bruce Reynolds, CS, and Sharon Vogel, CS, authors of “Striking the Balance, Expert Review of Ontario’s Construction Lien Act.“
